Marc is the Head Coach of The Borough of  Harrow Swimming Club and Lead  Coach for the Performance Squad, the top squad in the competitive swimming section of the club. Marc also has responsibility for the development of club coaches and teachers. He is presently a Great Britain International Coach and on the England Talent Development Coaching Team.

Marc brings a lifetime of outstanding swimming experience to his position at Harrow, which includes winning two World Championship Silver Medals and swimming in the final of the 200 Meters Freestyle Relay at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. In that event, Marc and his Great Britain Team Mates smashed the British Record and finished 5th, losing out on the bronze medal by .1 of a second!

Training under Great Britain Head Coach, Ian Turner and alongside Olympic Silver Medalist Paul Palmer, Marc started his swimming career as an eight year old with City of Lincoln Pentaqua and won National Age Group Championships in 1994, 95 and 96, before moving to Bath in 1997. Determined to achieve his goal of taking his swimming to the highest level, Marc commenced training with the elite University of Bath Swim Squad and secured his goal almost immediately when he was called up for full international honours with the Great Britain Senior Squad and competed in the first of his three World Championships, in Perth, Australia, in 1998.

After finishing his competitive swimming career, Marc took up a position as Assistant Coach with the highly respected Lincoln Vulcans Swimming Club and was appointed Vulcans Head Coach in 2006. During this time, Marc also became an undergraduate at Nottingham Trent University where he studied Graphic Design, graduating with honours in 2007.

As Head Coach of Lincoln Vulcans, Marc won many accolades for his coaching excellence and enjoyed notable success coaching swimmers’ from age group level, nurturing their development through to full potential, including World Class Swimmer Elizabeth Simmonds (who has already broken British records, won World Championship medals and competed in the Beijing Olympics), European Junior Championships Silver Medalist Sophie Allen and outstanding Paralympian Rob Welbourn to name just a few. Marc strives to pass on all his experience to every athlete and help them achieve their goals.
